We seek a detail-oriented and motivated Regulatory Accountant to join our operational accounting team and support our commitment to regulatory compliance.

Position Summary
As a Regulatory Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring that our financial practices comply with regulations set by governing bodies. You will prepare financial reports, conduct audits, and assist with regulatory reporting, ensuring that the organization adheres to all financial regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and experience in regulatory environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with relevant regulatory frameworks and standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS, or industry-specific regulations).
- Ensure all financial practices comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, conducting regular reviews and audits.
- Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process to provide necessary documentation and support.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports to government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Monitor changes in financial regulations and assess their impact on the organization’s accounting practices.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to internal departments regarding regulatory accounting issues and compliance matters.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate communication of financial information.
- Conduct risk assessments related to regulatory compliance and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks.

Education/Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- experience in accounting, with a focus on regulatory compliance or audit.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards relevant to oil & gas industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
